Alice E. (Byron) McLean of Wayland died on August 26, 2025, just a week short of her 97th birthday. She was born in the family residence in the Gleasondale area of Stow on September 3, 1928, the daughter of the late William F. Byron, Sr. and Mary E. (McCarthy) Byron.


Alice was the beloved wife of the late Donald G. McLean, who died on June 11, 2003. She was the devoted mother of Barry D. McLean and his wife Judith of Hopkinton, Rodrick B. McLean of Wayland, and Janice E. McLean of Worcester. Cherished grandmother of Ryan McLean, Rachel McLean and James McLean and his fiancรฉe, Julie Arnold. Sister of William F. Byron, Jr. of Gleasondale and the late Norma Wilton and Betty Randall. Also survived by nieces, nephews and their spouses.


Funeral service and interment were on September 4. In lieu of flowers, her family kindly suggests that gifts in Alice’s memory be sent to the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 53 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778. For condolences, please visitย www.johncbryantfuneralhome.com
