Students explore how the principles of art—perspective\, patience\, expression—mirror the skills that shape emotional intelligence and leadership. \nProjects include designing meaningful keepsakes\, guided reflection\, and studying how creative leaders like Picasso and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. turned vision into change. Each student builds toward a personal “masterpiece” of artistic and self-expression. \nParents receive weekly recaps and simple at-home practices to extend learning beyond the classroom.

DESCRIPTION:INSTRUMENT EXPLORERS – age 4.5 – 6 with a caregiver\nFor children who have outgrown early childhood music classes\, and are ALMOST READY for formal study. \nGetting ready to start an instrument\, but not sure which one to choose? \nStudents will meet* a different instrument each week (piano\, violin\, viola\, cello\, flute\, harp and guitar)\, and have a chance to try each one.\nThey will also experience concepts of musical language\, and some very basic music theory\, through hands-on games\, singing\, and listening activities – all of which prepare them for confident instrument study.\nCaregivers will discover how best to support instrument learning in young children. \n*Please note\, this class offers exposure and a little hands-on time with each instrument\, to help narrow down choices. Children are not learning how to play in this class – that happens in our instrument specific classes\, Suzuki program\, or Private Lessons.

Working on small paper tiles\, you’ll create your own original piece while enjoying a calming\, meditative drawing experience. No experience necessary. All materials are provided\, and a beginner toolkit is yours to keep.\nIn Zentangle: Beyond the Basics\, students who have completed a beginner class will build on their skills by exploring shading techniques using graphite to add depth\, contrast\, and dimension.
