SUMMARY:Watercolor and Oil Pastel Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Discover the vibrant possibilities of watercolor and oil pastel in this engaging eight-week class with Rahul Ray. Painting with Watercolor and Oil Pastel with Rahul Ray will meet Tuesdays from 5:45–7:15 pm at the Arts Wayland Gallery\, running April 14 through June 2\, 2026. In this small studio class (maximum of 6 students)\, participants will develop or refine their painting skills while exploring the expressive qualities of watercolor alongside the bold\, colorful versatility of oil pastels. The course will focus on essential artistic foundations—including observation\, perspective\, scale\, and technique—with sketching as an important part of the process. Through guided exercises featuring still life\, landscape\, and portrait subjects\, students will gain confidence and practical skills in a supportive setting.

DESCRIPTION:State Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Marlborough) is excited to invite seniors from the Middlesex and Worcester District to the 45th Annual Senior Conference. The event will take place on Thursday\, April 23rd\, from 8 AM to 2 PM at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough\, where it has traditionally been held. \nThe Senior Conference is designed to offer seniors a day filled with valuable information\, entertainment\, and educational workshops led by expert guest speakers on topics such as aging well\, downsizing\, and more to be announced! Senator Eldridge also provides a free breakfast and a delicious lunch prepared by the culinary students of Assabet Valley. \n“Our Senior Conference is one of my favorite traditions each year because it brings together seniors from across the district for a day of connection\, learning\, and celebration. We’ll provide critical information\, engaging workshops\, entertainment\, a free breakfast and lunch\, and of course some fun raffle prizes – including the Big Chair from Bouvier Pharmacy in Marlborough! I look forward to hearing directly from seniors about their concerns\, sharing updates on the work we’re doing on Beacon Hill\, and continuing our efforts to make Massachusetts a place where seniors can truly thrive.” \nThis event will be held at Assabet Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Marlborough.
