SUMMARY:Kids Art and Leadership Lab Ages 11-13
DESCRIPTION:Title: Kids’ Art & Leadership Lab: From the Inside Out\nAges: 11–13\nDates: Saturdays – Jan 31\, Feb 7\, Feb 28\, Mar 7\, Mar 14\, Mar 21\, Mar 28\, Apr 4\nTime: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM\nTuition: $550\nMaterials Fee: $25\nMinimum Enrollment: 8–15 students\nLocation: Arts Wayland\nRegister: www.artswayland.com \nDescription:\nWhat if your child could learn to see their life the way an artist does — with imagination\, openness\, and courage to experiment? \nDesigned for ages 11–13\, this 8-week creative leadership lab blends art-making\, brain science\, and social-emotional learning to nurture focus\, empathy\, and resilience. Students explore how the principles of art—perspective\, patience\, expression—mirror the skills that shape emotional intelligence and leadership. \nProjects include designing meaningful keepsakes\, guided reflection\, and studying how creative leaders like Picasso and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. turned vision into change. Each student builds toward a personal “masterpiece” of artistic and self-expression. \nParents receive weekly recaps and simple at-home practices to extend learning beyond the classroom.

SUMMARY:Wayland School of Music "Instrument Explorers" Class with Wayland Recreation
DESCRIPTION:INSTRUMENT EXPLORERS – age 4.5 – 6 with a caregiver\nFor children who have outgrown early childhood music classes\, and are ALMOST READY for formal study. \nGetting ready to start an instrument\, but not sure which one to choose? \nStudents will meet* a different instrument each week (piano\, violin\, viola\, cello\, flute\, harp and guitar)\, and have a chance to try each one.\nThey will also experience concepts of musical language\, and some very basic music theory\, through hands-on games\, singing\, and listening activities – all of which prepare them for confident instrument study.\nCaregivers will discover how best to support instrument learning in young children. \n*Please note\, this class offers exposure and a little hands-on time with each instrument\, to help narrow down choices. Children are not learning how to play in this class – that happens in our instrument specific classes\, Suzuki program\, or Private Lessons.
